- What is your topic? the first public hospital in philadelphia.
- When was your innovation invented or thought of? • The Pennsylvania Hospital, founded by Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Bond, opened its doors in 1751 - the first hospital in America. In addition, Philadelphia is home to the nation's first medical school, first children's hospital, first cancer hospital, first eye hospital, first nursing school and first dental school.
- What was happening in the country/world at that time (social, political, economic)? something that was going on in this time period was that on February 7 The Pennsylvania Hospital, the first establishment in North America devoted to the relief of the sick and suffering, was chartered by the Assembly of Pennsylvania, at the solicitation of Benjamin Franklin, Dr. Thomas Bond, Rev. Richard Peters and others.
